Kansas City Royals infielder Christian Colón and his wife Kayla are expecting their first child together, and like any excited couple, they wanted to share the news of their baby's gender in a fun way.
After Sunday's game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Kayla tossed a chalk-filled baseball, and when Colón hit it, it exploded into a pink cloud—announcing they're having a baby girl.
According to Sports Illustrated, only Kayla's sister knew the baby's gender and had to keep it a secret for several days. Both mom and dad were surprised!
And not only did they reveal the gender in the video, but Colón also posted on Twitter and Instagram with the name they've picked out for their little girl.
According to MLB.com associate reporter Scott Chasen, Colón and his wife got the idea for the exploding chalk baseball from fellow player Freddie Freeman, who plays for the Atlanta Braves and did the same kind of reveal with his wife last year.
