Instagram is the gift that just keeps on giving. But, instead of Queenie Liao's baby naptime adventures and dads balancing Cheerios on their sleeping babies' faces, this time the napping star that won the internet is 4-month-old Joey Marie Choi, who is transformed into mind-blowing pop-culture icons.
New mom and Los Angeles photographer Laura Izumikawa isn't sleeping when baby sleeps. Instead, she dresses little Joey in outfits and surrounds her with props referencing favorite icons, such as Eleven from "Stranger Things," Pikachu, Beyoncé and more. Oh, and her pun game is so strong.
“I would end up just staring at her face all day and night because I was just so in love,” Izumikawa told the Huffington Post about how the idea came about. “Because Joey slept so deeply, I thought it’d be fun adding little props on her just to send some hilarious pictures to our parents. It was a way to memorialize her growth and little milestones.”
Now her Instagram account has more than 103,000 followers, who praise her sense of humor (a quality that's so necessary when you're a parent!) and her talent.
You can see her amazing work for yourself. Here are some of our favorites.
Welcome to the jungle.
"Stranger Things"? More like ... "Cuter Things."
We can get on the #wizardcrushwednesdays bandwagon.
