Naya Rivera reveals in her new memoir, “Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up,” that she had a secret abortion in 2010. It was so secret that she didn’t even tell the father, Ryan Dorsey, at the time.

The “Glee” actress and Dorsey had dated for a bit, but were broken up when Rivera found out she was pregnant. She made the difficult decision to terminate because she felt that her career was too demanding for her to be able to raise a child.

Interestingly enough, Rivera and Dorsey eventually got back together and married in 2014. Then, in September 2015, Rivera gave birth to their son, Josey Hollis Dorsey.

At some point after getting back together, Rivera felt that she needed to let Dorsey know about the terminated pregnancy, regardless of how he might react. He could have held it against her, but instead he was incredibly supportive and bemoaned the fact that he wasn’t able to be there for Rivera.

"He said, 'Uh, you know, in the short time that we dated, I wish that I could have done something to make you feel like you could have trusted me with that information because I would have loved to have been there with you,'" Rivera told the ladies of “The Real” during a recent interview. "And I was like, 'God, that's amazing, thank you so much.'"

Wow, that is quite possibly the best reaction that Rivera could have hoped for, considering the possibilities. He even put the blame on himself for not having done something that made Rivera feel like she could go to him. It's no surprise that she says, "I think it was the kindest and best thing that any man could have ever said in that situation. It just made me love him that much more, so I thank him for that."

You can read Dorsey’s whole reaction in Rivera's memoir, which came out Sept. 13.
