If you were thinking of serving chicken nuggets for dinner, think again.
Tyson Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of 5-pound bags of Tyson Fully Cooked Panko Chicken Nuggets that were sold at Costco stores nationwide due to a small number of customer complaints about finding bits of hard, white plastic in the nuggets. Yes, plastic. The company is recalling approximately 132,520 pounds of product.
Luckily, no injuries have been reported, and smaller packages of Tyson chicken nuggets sold in smaller grocery stores are not impacted.
The recall involves 5-pound bags of Tyson Fully Cooked Panko Chicken Nuggets purchased at Costco since July 2016 with the following details:
Item #: 23575-928
Lots feature “Best If Used By” dates of July 18, 2017, with case codes 2006SDL03 or 2006SDL33.
The recalled products also have establishment number “P-13556” printed adjacent to the “Best If Used By” date on the back of the package.
If you have a recalled package in your freezer, toss it out immediately, cut out the UPC and data code from the back, and mail it in to Tyson at the following address for a full refund:
