Calling it "immodest," a Brooklyn Orthodox Jewish school has banned the wearing of thick glasses frames by any attending students. A letter sent home to parents explained the school's reasoning for the ban, saying, "The good deed that accompanied the Jews in Egypt was that they didn't change their names and clothes, and this same strength is still accompanying us and maintaining us in exile—in all generations," explains the letter. And there is no tolerance for wearing glasses with the banned thick frames: "It doesn't matter what age—a student cannot come to yeshiva with these glasses," the letter reads.
