Not all stars foist their children off on nannies 24/7. Consider Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves, who just took their first trip away from their kids since the birth of their third child five months earlier. “We noticed on the plane: ‘Where is everybody?’” joked McConaughey to ABC News. “It’s very relaxing, exciting,” Alves said at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Jersey City. “I got off the plane and was like, ‘No car seats! No strollers!’”

But while the couple is enjoying their timeout from diaper and playground duty, McConaughey says he’s learned a ton raising Levi, 4, Vida 3, and infant Livingston. “One thing you learn when you’re a parent that I didn’t know as much beforehand is how much DNA … as soon as they’re born they are who they are. You can shape them, but they’re very unique,” he says.

In other words: Stop stressing over those Baby Einstein videos or Monkey Math apps. Your kids are who they are. Thanks, Matthew, for giving us a break.
