OK, so there still have been no statements from the couple
to the press, but a Tweet finally makes it cyber-official: reality star and
general hottie Kim Kardashian, 32, and music star boyfriend Kanye West, 36, are
now the parents of a baby girl.
Proud grandmother Kris Jenner tweeted “HAPPY FATHERS DAY
@kanywest” yesterday, reports USA Today. And there was more. Jenner attended
yesterday’s red carpet for the Daytime Emmy Awards and spoke about her new
granddaughter there was well, calling her “beautiful” and saying everyone was
The newspaper reports that other friends and relatives of
K&K are also starting to talk about the baby (whose name has not been
released yet). Jonathan Cheban, a family pal, Tweeted a flattering shout-out
to grandma Kris, writing, "shes not bad for having 3 grand kids! Hahahaha.”
Of course, for anyone who’s been following the pop
culture, this has been one well-documented pregnancy. West was the first to break
the news to the public last December, during a concert in Atlantic City.
(Think baby announcements Kanye-style: "Stop the music and make noise for
my baby mama … now you having my baby!" he shouted to the audience, which
included Kardashian.) And the world learned that the baby would be a girl when
Kim announced it a few weeks ago on her reality series, Keeping up With the Kardashians.
The E! network, which airs the show, announced that Kim
gave birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, located in West Hollywood,
Calif., on Saturday morning. West was by Kardashian’s side for the arrival
of their daughter, who is reported to have weighed in at less than 5 pounds.
Kardashian’s publicist, Jill Fritzo, didn’t respond to requests for comments,
but Kim’s sister Khloe weighed in last evening with a Tweet as well: “I can not
even begin 2describe the miracle that is now apart of our family. Mommy/baby
are health & resting. We appreciate all of the love…More info will come
when the time is right!”
