Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby daughter into
their lives last Saturday. Ever since then, as we reported earlier this week, rumors have swirled about the little one’s name, which wasn’t immediately
released to the press. Possibilities from the reasonable to the ridiculous
circulated, all of them starting with K.
But now, People reports, you’re just going to have to forget
about that K. OK?
The reality-show star, 32, and rapper, 36, have decided to
take an entirely different direction on a baby name—literally. They’re naming
their daughter North West.
Their choice will likely come as a surprise to the couple’s
fans, since earlier media speculation had settled on other frontrunners. These
included Kaidence (a name supposedly leaked by a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical
Center, the L.A. hospital where Kim gave birth) and Kai Georgia Donda. (George
was the middle name of Kim’s late father, and Donda was the first name of
Kanye’s late mom, so this choice would’ve paid tribute to both of those folks).
Others who keep up with the Kardashians had a different
theory earlier this week. Noting that someone had registered the domain
klementinestarwest.com, they insisted that that would be the name we’d soon see
on all those undoubtedly fab birth announcements (minus the dot-com, of
