Kim's & Kanye's Baby Name!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby daughter into their lives last Saturday. Ever since then, as we reported earlier this week, rumors have swirled about the little one’s name, which wasn’t immediately released to the press. Possibilities from the reasonable to the ridiculous circulated, all of them starting with K.

But now, People reports, you’re just going to have to forget about that K. OK?

The reality-show star, 32, and rapper, 36, have decided to take an entirely different direction on a baby name—literally. They’re naming their daughter North West.

Their choice will likely come as a surprise to the couple’s fans, since earlier media speculation had settled on other frontrunners. These included Kaidence (a name supposedly leaked by a nurse at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the L.A. hospital where Kim gave birth) and Kai Georgia Donda. (George was the middle name of Kim’s late father, and Donda was the first name of Kanye’s late mom, so this choice would’ve paid tribute to both of those folks).

Others who keep up with the Kardashians had a different theory earlier this week. Noting that someone had registered the domain klementinestarwest.com, they insisted that that would be the name we’d soon see on all those undoubtedly fab birth announcements (minus the dot-com, of course).

We can’t blame anyone for being thrown off the trail. In March, when she’d appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Kardashian had denied rumors that she and Kanye were considering North for a name. "I do like Easton, Easton West," she’d countered.
