Babies. They always arrive at the most inopportune times, you know? Sometimes it's in the back of a taxi cab ... other times it's on the toilet ... For one mom traveling from Morocco, her little bundle of joy decided to come early—and mid-air—during a flight to Bologna, Italy. Talk about making an entrance.
According to the official Moroccan news agency, MAP, the 39-year-old mom went into labor right after takeoff on Sunday. The Huffington Post reports that pilots diverted the flight to Barcelona, but the baby boy was too quick for them, and was born just before landing. Lucky for mom, there happened to be capable crew members and a midwife on the plane, so the delivery was pretty smooth, all things considered. Both mom and baby were taken to Sant Joan de Déu hospital in Barcelona and by all accounts, are doing just fine.
As for the other passengers? They weren't too put out—the flight continued to Bologna just 50 minutes after it originally landed in Barcelona.
