Good Samaritan Returns Toddlers to Home

We definitely don't hear these stories often enough—yesterday, a good Samaritan found and saved three toddlers who were wandering along the side of a road in Shady Hills, Fla. The police department got involved and eventually tracked down the mother of the children.

According to mom, she had let the kids out to play in the backyard, without realizing that part of the fence surrounding the house was missing. "Had it been dark or the driver wasn't able to see what was going on or was not paying attention, it could've potentially been a deadly situation,” Doug Tobin, of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, told Bay News 9.

While no charges are being brought against the mother, we can't help but wonder how she could not know that part of her own house's fencing was gone. Of course, we don't know the entire story, or even how long the kids were missing, but it does seem a little fishy. Nevertheless, it's nice to hear something good in the news every once in a while, especially when it comes to the kindness of strangers.
