Wal-Mart Pulls 'Naughty Leopard' Costume

Wal-Mart has decided to put a tight leash on a naughty leopard.

Parents visiting a Portland, Ore., area Wal-Mart were less than thrilled when they found a "naughty leopard" costume in the Halloween aisle at the store—especially because the saucy-sounding outfit was made for a toddler.

Local parents spoke to local ABC station KATU on September 24 to say that the costume was inappropriate for kids so young, according to KATU.com.

“The outfit itself is cute," mom Shalene told the station about the costume, which features sequins and a lace skirt, "but naughty leopard doesn't sound like something a kid should be wearing,” she said.

After the strong reaction, Wal-Mart decided to pull the costume off shelves the next day.

“It was never our intention to offend anyone, and we apologize to any customers who may have been offended by the name of the costume,” Danit Marquardt, a Wal-Mart spokesperson, told the news station.
