Annelise Barron, a Stanford professor from Palo Alto, Calif., made plans to take her three sons from two different fathers to Hawaii, with the help of her long-time nanny Sonia Audino in 2012. In the process, Barron missed scheduled mediation and family court appointments, which meant that she was committing felony child abduction.
"Given that (Barron) and Audino completely stopped using their cellphones ... we strongly believed that Barron's intention was to flee with the kids and shut off all possible contact…," Detective Anjanette Holler of the Palo Alto Police Department wrote in a report, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
"I was intending to have a vacation and come home," said Barron, who now only has supervised visits with her children.
