Reality: There's plenty on the sushi menu for a pregnant woman — even the raw stuff. "Sushi is flash frozen, which eliminates parasites," Bohn explains. And in fact, the omega-3s in fish make it a key part of a pregnancy diet. Just avoid mackerel, shark, tilefish and swordfish and take it easy on the tuna — as you should in general. The mercury that's concentrated in these larger fish is a well-established no-no.
