Can Prenatal Vitamins Enhance Your Appetite?

Prenatal vitamins do not stimulate appetite, however, the flavor of some vitamins can make a woman feel nauseous and lose her appetite, notes Dr. Yvonne Bohn, Los Angeles-based OB-GYN and medical consultant for E.P.T. Family Planning Solutions. “Sometimes the docosahexaenoic acid in the vitamins may give a fishy aftertaste that may cause indigestion and loss of appetite as well,” says Bohn. Bohn adds that some prenatal vitamins have extra B vitamins, which can decrease nausea and may help improve appetite.
