Do Prenatal Vitamins Help Mothers Gain Energy?

Although prenatal vitamins are not intended to increase your level of energy, if you are anemic, the iron in such vitamins may help combat that condition and increase your energy, according to Dr. Allison Hill, a Los Angeles-based obstetrician and gynecologist. “Some prenatal vitamins also have extra B vitamins, which may enhance energy levels in some women,” says Hill. New mothers may want to continue taking a prenatal vitamin or a multivitamin -- especially if breastfeeding -- to supplement their diets with essential vitamins and minerals.
