Can I Carry My Toddler When Pregnant?

If you're the mother of a toddler and expecting a new baby, you may have concerns about whether you can safely tote your tot while pregnant. While you might have heard that lifting more than 25 pounds while pregnant is generally frowned upon, picking up a toddler who desperately wants his mama is often unavoidable. According to Dr. Erika Nichelson, an ob-gyn with Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, you shouldn't fret about carrying your toddler. "It is safe, assuming you're not dealing with preterm labor issues or a complicated pregnancy," she said. If you have concerns about your pregnancy, consult your doctor.
