All I Want for Christmas Is a Baby

Dear Santa,

How are you? It’s been a long time since I’ve written to you. I hope you are well. Have you been enjoying the cookies and milk we leave out for you? Hopefully this year my daughter and son will help bake some especially for you.

Anyway, when I brought the kids to see you the other day, I didn’t get to tell you what I really want for Christmas this year. My list of wants have changed over the years. The number of material things gets shorter as my desire for intangible gifts, such as quality family time, grows.

I’ve been relatively good this year. Sure, I’ve had my "mom fails" from time to time, but my heart is in the right place. My intentions are good, so I hope that keeps me off the naughty list. (Though if you ask my husband, he kind of likes it when I’m naughty. Hey, we’re all adults here!)

All I want for Christmas is to conceive a baby. A true gift that will keep on giving. A gift that will keep our family’s love growing, year after year.

My request is a bit unconventional as it can not be created in your toy shop, nor can you leave it under our Christmas tree wrapped in festive paper. However, it seems most appropriate to ask you.

Based on the data I’ve been collecting about my cycles the last few months, my handy-dandy app is predicting I’ll ovulate on Christmas Day. We’re going to do everything we can on our end to prepare. Of course, we won’t know until after the new year if my wish came true. Considering that both of my children were born in the fall and have helped bring happier holiday memories into my life, it seems fitting that Baby No. 3 could be conceived on Christmas.

I’m not even sure what you can do to help make this happen—a little holiday magic perhaps? No, I know you can’t make me pregnant for Christmas, but it’s an exciting thought. You have to admit, it’d be really wonderful to have three little stockings hanging up for you to fill next year, wouldn’t it?

Love,

Darcy

P.S. I’d also really love a high-powered blender. The kids really love it when I make smoothies.
