An Open Letter to My Uterus

Dear Uterus,

It appears that you and my ovaries need a pep talk. You see, I'd really like to conceive another baby so I need you two to work together. We all need to be on the same team in order to make this happen.

I understand you probably have been enjoying having your own space since you evicted my son more than two years ago. I can't imagine you like having Aunt Flo visit though. I know I don't. She has been a bad-news messenger lately. And, she totally overstayed her welcome last cycle.

It'd be great if you could start preparing my womb for one more baby. It's beautiful and amazing the way you grow a baby. Also, I totally miss my baby bump.

Now, if there is something wrong, please tell me so we can get things sorted out. I hate playing these guessing games with you each month. For all I know, my eggs have been uniting with my husband's sperm, but aren't willing to move in. You need to be a good hostess, Uterus. Convince them to have their romantic encounter, then sign the nine-month lease.

Get this done, Uterus. I know you can do it. You helped me out with my other two kids. Let's get the baby-making team back together for one last time.

Darcy, anxiously waiting to get pregnant

P.S. Please don't make me find other ways to coerce you to cooperate. But if it is really Ovary's fault you better pass this along.

P.P.S. Don't make me beg.
