Pampering Essentials for Busy Moms

Finding time to pamper yourself as a busy mom can be tall order these days, as we juggle schedules, housework and errands. But sometimes just a few minutes here or there will make a huge difference in helping you to feel refreshed and put your best foot forward. I wanted to share a few of my go-to products whenever I need a little me-time and help me have a mini spa moment—even if it’s just for a few stolen minutes at home!

One of my favorite ways to feel like I just walked out of the spa is to enjoy a body scrub when I’m in the shower. I just love the feel of freshly exfoliated skin and these scrubs are infused with oils that leave my skin feeling nourished for hours. A long-time favorite is the Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish and there’s a good reason this one is a cult favorite! A quick scrub leaves my skin soft and moisturized for hours, and I just love the subtly sweet smell that lingers. The Tata Harper Smoothing Body Scrub is a new one I recently picked up and I'm in love with the way my skin just glows for days with this one! And finally, if you’re a mama-to-be, I can’t say enough good things about the Basq Citrus Sugar Skin Perfecting Scrub. I used it for both of my pregnancies and swear that the oils helped prevent stretch marks and left my skin more supple than I could have ever imagined!

Isn’t it weird how a great blowout makes you feel like a movie star? Most days I don’t have much time to spend on my hair in the mornings but I’ve found a few must-have products that work wonders.

First up, everybody needs a good dry shampoo. There are just those days when you don’t have time to go through the process of washing your hair (#aintnobodygottimeforthat). I finally found a dry shampoo that doesn’t leave my hair with white residue; not only does this one from Unwash soak up any greasiness but it also smells wonderful! I actually have found that if I spray this in overnight and gently put my hair up in a bun, things are actually looking pretty good by the morning!

Besides dry shampoo, I also swear by the R+Co Dallas Thickening Spray. Besides that it’s named after the town I live in (hey, we Dallas girls like big hair!), I’ve found that this spray gives my limp fine hair the volume that I’ve always wanted!

And lastly, the styling tool that has changed my mornings: the Luma Hair Straightening Ceramic Brush. With this tool, I just brush my hair like normal and within a few minutes my bed head is transformed into sleek, smooth hair. Now instead of putting my hair up into a bun when I don’t have time, I just plug the Luma in and I'm ready to go in under 5 minutes!

It's amazing how a great lipstick makes you feel put together! I always have a few go-to shades tucked away in my purse and it’s great knowing that I’m a quick swipe away from at least looking like I tried! (Thankfully, a messy bun is in these days, right?)

Being a mom is a hard job and while there may not always be time to spend at the spa, I hope you’ll try some of my recommendations for products that will give you a little “me moment” in the midst of your busy schedule!
