Roxy Limon's Secret to Looking Great

Becoming a mommy has been one of the best gifts I could ever ask for but let's face it, it's one of the hardest jobs in the world! Sleepless nights, early morning wake-up calls and let's not even get into nursing (aka pulling out your boob every two hours). Yes! It's that crazy! My son is now a year old and I'm still trying to find the best ways to look my best and feel my most confident, even if I am tired.

I don't always have time to get ready in the morning, but that doesn't stop me from wanting and trying to look my best before I walk out my door. Like my grandma would alway say, "Theres not much to a pretty face, unless that pretty face believes in herself." And yes, I can sit here all day and tell you, you have to feel pretty on the inside to show it on the outside—blah blah blah. I think I can speak for some of us: When we look and feel good on the outside, it also has the reverse effect and can make us feel pretty on the inside. This routine helps me achieve all that and more.

Here are my secrets to achieving my best mommy-on-the-go look, which will hopefully help make you feel your very best!

First Things First: I'm a strong believer in taking care of your skin because that will result in less makeup for a fresher and more radiant face.

Moisturizer: I use the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream because I've found that it's not too thick and yet has a very creamy consistency because of its oils. I use this before I apply my foundation.

Serum: This next step is very crucial to smoother, more radiant, younger-looking skin. I use the Lancome Advanced Genifique concentrate serum. Even though this step is crucial, if I miss it, I just make sure to apply it at night to help my skin look more supple.

Pore Eraser: Since becoming a mommy, my pores have been huge! Did your skin change after you had your baby? Maybe it's also because I'm still nursing Liam. I don't know, but whatever it is causing my skin to be the way it is, my LA Base Pore minimizer helps. It's also oil-free, which is a plus!

Concealer: For all those problems that pop up on-the-go, choose a concealer with SPF so you'll have coverage not only from unsightly spots but also from the sun and its harmful rays.

Blush: Who doesn't love a good blush? Two easy swipes on my cheeks and I'm done! I wish I could find a stick cream blush that I love, but I haven't yet. Any recommendations?

Brows: A good brow can take you far in life. I remember sitting and watching my grandma fill in her eyebrows. Sometimes that's all she would do to her face.

Lips: I use a lip gloss to give me just a touch of shine. Nothing too crazy but it still looks simple and pretty.

Secret Weapon: Lots of us might forget this part but its essential to looking awake and youthful. I insist on using Liquid Lighting by Kevyn Aucoin. It will make your skin glow—just this product alone, nothing else needed. I apply a tiny amount on my fingers and put that onto my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my cupid's bow. It highlights those points and makes those areas glow, which gives you a beautiful, youthful face.

Again, these are just some of the steps I take to help me feel my best, especially when I'm short on time. These steps help me achieve an everyday look that feels fresh and polished. What is your favorite mommy-on-the-go makeup look? Tell me below!
