Precious Photos: Nap Time With a Puppy

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of watching my friend's new puppy, Millie, for the day. My son immediately loved her, showing her every toy he had and even giving her a little nickname—"Mills." My daughter wasn't immediately won over but was definitely interested. As the day wore on, she definitely warmed up.

I had hoped to get photos of them sleeping in her crib as soon as we planned this day puppy-sitting, but I didn't have high hopes since my daughter has not napped in her crib in months. We try all the time to sneak her into her crib after she falls asleep but the most it lasts is 10 minutes. Sometimes it seems like the second her head hits her crib mattress, she starts crying. She either needs to be sleeping next to someone or in our bed. We always say we are going to start sleep training but never do. I remember how exhausting it was with my son and he still finds his way into our room.

So on this puppy-sitting day when she fell asleep in my arms I laid her in her crib and grabbed Mills. They napped like this for an hour and a half! I kept going in to check on them and to sneak some more photos—because two babies napping is just too adorable not to.

We may need to puppy-sit more often.
